Men's Fashion Obsession...

Mon, 03/07/2011 - 11:44AM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 14 Views

My blog has been pretty abandoned for the past couple of months so why not bring it back with men's fashion. Men's fashion isn't reported on as much as women's and I don't understand why. Men are not only gorgeous, but dressed in trendy items they are irresistible ;)

For Fall 2011 RTW there are many amazing collections but here are some of my favorite designers and my favorite pieces from their Fall lines.

3.1 Phillip Lim never disappoints with a very 1980's higher-waisted pants and double-breasted suit jackets he created very sleek and timeless pieces. He stuck with his normal color palette of dark neutral colors here are a few pieces I loved!!!!

Another one of my favorite designers who always impresses me with his collections Marc Jacobs. For his Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall RTW 2011 collection he went with a very hip and playful style. By pairing suits with sneakers and striped sweaters while using very earthy rich colors.

Finally my favorite Men's Fall 2011 RTW collection was Richard Chai. His collection had a very structured feel to it with beautifully tailored pieces and a very cool color palette. Here are a few of my favorite outfits from his runway show.

Wed, 11/17/2010 - 6:52PM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 37 Views

Saturday November 13, 2010 we had one of our biggest events of the year. A fashion show to raise funds for cancer patients. This event was held at the Westin St. Francis Imperial Suite on the 32nd floor in San Francisco. It was casino themed so we had casino games set up to entertain guests while the show was still being prepped for. The show turned out to be a great event. All thanks to Jeff Ingram as our head stylist, myself as Jeff's assistant, Yolanda, and Charleston Pierce. Our featured designers for this event were:

Karen Caldwell

Zoe Bikini

NaraCamicie

Gelareh Alam

All of these talented designers had amazing pieces my favorite were Karen Caldwell and Gelareh with their amazing gowns. Zoe Bikini had some beautiful and unique suits as well. NaraCamicie once again had some great pieces and really nice dress shirts for men.

Thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support and helped us raise money for Cancer patients. Can't wait for our next show!!!!

HeartCone & Bone

Thu, 11/11/2010 - 11:44AM by DeeeDee 1 Comment - 48 Views

TALENT, AMBITION, DREAMS, MOTIVATION, DRIVE, PASSION: all these are what many of us have however MONEY is a big factor in allowing us to follow our DREAMS and use that PASSION, that MOTIVATION to bring to life that TALENT we have. However, as we have been told to never give up and follow our DREAMS regardless of what they may be some of us never get to that point in our lives. So when someone puts that AMBITION and TALENT and goes forth to create something they have always wanted I feel like they deserve to be recognized.

David Wu one of my classmates at FIDM is a very talented person and like all of us has been struggling to find a full time job regardless of having graduated. However, he hasn't been wasting his time doing nothing he has actually been very productive creating what is known as HeartCone & Bone. His tag line "Do what you love and love what you do," is what we all should follow. Sometimes you must take risks in life in order to see if the outcome will be worth it and thats what he's doing. He's following his passion and started HCB a clothing line for both men and woman (which right now consists of only shirts) by printing his logo on the t-shirts and creating different versions of it. So take a look at his page and don't forget to support the design and fashion community and purchase one of his t-shirts or tanks...here's the link http://heartconeandbone.com/page/2

Don Thomas' The Indulgence Lounge

Mon, 11/08/2010 - 11:50PM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 44 Views

Friday November 5, 2010 we had a beautiful fashion show at Payne Mansion in San Francisco. I had the honor of being an assistant stylist along side Jacqueline Li and head stylist Jeff Ingram. We had two live auctions with proceeds going to Airline Ambassadors whose mission is to provide international relief and development to underprivileged communities throughout the globe. We had clothing by Zoe Bikini, Prima Jiva, Monique Zhang, and Naracamicie. The runway was the staircase of the gorgeous mansion. The event was catered by Schilling & Co. and the open bar was sponsored by Rock Sake and several Napa Valley Wineries. This wonderful event was produced and choreographed by the amazing Charleston Pierce.

The show was a success even though we did have a mishap during the first segment our music cut off but of course our amazing models still rocked it.

The show was a success we had a great turnout with many familiar faces and helped us raise money for a good cause. Everyone seemed to have had a great time and a lot of fun watching the show and mingling amongst each other.

Don't forget to come by this Saturday for one or our biggest events to date at the Westin St. Francis Penthouse...See you all there!!

Creativesession...

Fri, 10/22/2010 - 6:26PM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 133 Views

Creativesession's tagline "Quit daydreaming. Lets make dreams come true." can come as an inspiration to many. We all dream about things we want in life and what we hope to do at some point. And sometimes we know that these are just dreams and don't do anything to pursue them. Creativesession is about coming together with various talented artists and collaborating thus having a "creativesession".

Hoang and Anh Nguyen started this concept in 2007 they are industrial designers who are extremely passionate and talented. They have recently printed a few graphics on t-shirts and sweatshirts.

Their Philosophy is "Design should speak beauty and reason; it should be simple and natural, not regulated nor restricted. Like emotions, you counter with a reaction, the reaction becomes the design solution – it is natural and simple gut reaction."

Hoang once told me: "I think tough days are when you grow and learn. Its when your skills are put to the biggest test." Which I find to be very true. If you didn't have days like these then it would be hard to grow and learn and get better and realize what your strengths are and how much you can handle.

What these two crazy guys do is very inspirational to many. They are very talented and never give up and are growing in the online world. So check their stuff out on http://www.creativesession.us/ and you won't be disappointed.

Last night we had our last show for Macy's Passport Glamorama in San Francisco at the Orpheum near civic center. The show was amazing and backstage was a little less hectic than in Los Angeles besides the fact that I was juggling between the lovely Emile and David because we were short a dresser. However the show was a success as always and the models and dancers did an amazing job on both the lunch and evening shows. Again choreographed by the amazing Brian Friedman...however our show wouldn't be possible without our amazing crew!!! Women's Styling team: Sachi Yamazaki, John Lee, and Shauna McCann. And of course our wonderful Men's Squad with stylists: Simeon Dacumos and Nicolas Izumi. But of course thanks to our wonderful Laura Schara and amazing Larry Hashbarger.

Spring 2011 RTW

Wed, 09/22/2010 - 5:18PM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 45 Views

I am obsessed with everyone's Spring 2011 RTW collections. I can sit at home for hours going through all their runway photos.

First lets start off with Gucci; Gold, tassels, military, teal, plunging necklines, etc..took over Gucci's Spring 2011 Runway collection.  Here are some of my favorite looks...

Matthew Williamson also had an amazing collection. With a military and western inspired twist to his looks and sun bleached tones with bustier dresses a feminine approach was taken to these gorgeous pieces

And of course the fabulous and talented Phillip Lim did not fail to amaze me. 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2011 collection was amazing with a minimalistic approach and down-to-the-bone aesthetic he kept it simple as always with a conservative yet feminine feel. He used a lot of layering and stuck to a neutral color palette.

Marchesa Spring 2011 RTW to die for...with tulle, ruffles, embellishments, and everything frilly you can think of these amazing dresses couldn't be any more feminine. These well-made, whimsical gowns bring you back to what being a female is all about.

Macy's Passport Glamorama Los Angeles

Mon, 09/20/2010 - 9:29PM by DeeeDee 0 Comments - 58 Views

Macy's Passport Glamorama was in Los Angeles at the Orpheum downtown Thursday September 16, 2010. The show was a success with performances by Macy Gray and Eric Hutchinson. I was lucky enough to be a stylist for the show and it was amazing. It was pretty tiring and a long day, but luckily with great friends who let me stay with them it was easy getting around and it was a lot of fun being there I really miss it. During the show it got pretty hectic backstage but we pulled it all together as always. We had a broken zipper for a dress, ripped pants, and even costumes that needed fixing, but on stage the models rocked it. Our dancers were choreographed by our talented and amazing Brian Friedman.

Our beneficiaries in Los Angeles were the "Aids Project Los Angeles" and "Project Angel Food" APLA is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by HIV and PAF provides vital services to men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS and other life threatening illnesses.

This year Miss Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2010!! The gorgeous Mexican Jimena Navarrete beat out 88 of the most beautiful women from 6 continents. The pageant was hosted by Bret Michaels and Natalie Morales on August 23, 2010 in Las Vegas. Moments after being crowned Miss Universe/Miss Mexico said "But I tell you that all the Mexicans and the Latin's that are living here in the United States are hardworking people who want to improve on their quality of life." She is going to represent her country well and is going to be a voice of the Mexicans.

Jimena Navarrete is 22 years old and is from Guadalajara. She was the top scoring competitor in the evening gown competition and got second place in the swimsuit portion. The runner ups were Miss Jamaica Yendi Philipps took second place, Miss Australia Jenista Campbell took third, Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska got fourth, and Miss Philippines Venus Raj—the projected favorite coming into the competition—took fifth place.
